TELL ME MORE!
Why is A Grand Way Out more expensive?
Our Wallace & Gromit: A Grand Way Out pricing reflects the typical cost escape rooms today, as well as the fact it is a fully licensed experience.
Our other themes are priced lower because we intentionally position ourselves as one of the most competitively priced escape room venues in the area.
Can I have a drink before playing?
Yes, you’re welcome to have an alcoholic drink before your game. However, as we are a family venue and as with any live event, we reserve the right to refuse admission if we believe your behaviour could impact the safety or enjoyment of others.
How many players per room?
Our rooms are designed for up to 6 players, except A Grand Way Out, which has a maximum of 5 players. For safety and game design reasons, we aren’t able to exceed these limits. The minimum group size for all rooms is 2 players.
If you have a larger group, many of our themes offer head-to-head options so you can play simultaneously in separate rooms, which makes the experience even more fun!
Are there any age limits?
We welcome players of all ages, however all children aged 14 and under must be accompanied by at least one adult aged 18 or over in each room booked. This is to ensure everyone has a safe and enjoyable experience.
Can I add extra players to an existing booking?
If you’d like to add more players, please get in touch and we’ll check availability. We can usually add extra people if your room has space and you stay within the maximum team size. If your group exceeds this, we may be able to add an additional room, subject to availability. We’ll do our best to help!
What is your cancellation policy?
If you wish to make any changes to your booking, you must notify us in writing at least 5 days prior to your event and we will do our best to accommodate your request. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer refunds for any group members who cancel or are unable to attend within 5 days of your booking.
How much does it cost?
We are priced at £15 per player.
Do you have parking?
Due to our central location we have ample parking around us. Our closest car park is Market St, Exeter EX1 1BW (10 second walk) at £5.10 for up to 2 hours however Market Street NCP closes at 21:00, leaving it unsuitable for our 8pm session. The next closest is Mary Arches Street Car Park (EX4 3AZ) at £4.40 for up to 2 hours and is a 1 minute walk away. Parking for Mary Arches Street Level Car Park is free on Thursdays from 6pm onwards.
Where are you?
We are located on Fore Street, Exeter. We are directly opposite Buffet City and underneath the walkthrough next to The Chevalier Inn.
Can I make a booking and pay on the day?
Bookings can only be made if they are paid for in advance. Whilst we can accept on-the-day walk-ins, we can't ensure a session will be available for your party and strongly recommend booking to avoid disappointment.
Do you have any wheelchair access/chairs in the rooms?
As much as we strive to be all inclusive, unfortunately our Exeter venue is located on a second floor. We sincerely apologise that due to the age of our building we are unable to offer a lift to this floor. Each room however does offer seating to take a moment to relax if needed.
What can I wear?
There is nothing specifically needed except yourselves. Teams can play in wedding dresses to suits, fancy dress to casual…as long as you’re wearing something & it's family appropriate, we’re happy.
Can I bring my baby?
Of course, as long as you remember to take them with you after.
Do you have meeting rooms?
Unfortunately we don’t at our venue, however we have some great contacts our staff can advise you on before or after you visit us within seconds of our venue.
Do I have to be in the room with my kids (14 and younger) or can I just be in the building?
We probably shouldn’t be trusted with The Professor’s precision equipment, and we definitely should not be left in charge of young, impressionable scientists! We will need you to have 1 responsible adult (18+) for each room if there will be Escapees aged 14 and under.
How many people can be in a room?
We like to make sure everyone has a great time and that of course includes safety therefore we limit our rooms to a maximum of 6 players, except A Grand Way Out which is 5 players. Have more than 6 players? Play head to head! It’s much more fun and what we specialise in!
I’m Pregnant! Can I still play?
Yes, of course. There are no physical challenges in any of our games and we have provided seating in all of the rooms should anyone need to take a break. It’s also worth noting that you are not actually locked inside of a room, you are free to leave at any point during the game through an unlocked door.
Am I really locked in a room?
You may leave the room at any time you wish through an unlocked door. Your personal game controller is monitoring your entire experience so it is perfectly safe.
Do you have to run?
No running is required however we’re not going to stop you!
Can we eat/have drinks before or after the game in the venue?
As we are a live event and adhere to a strict schedule, unfortunately not. However, we are surrounded by great restaurants and bars within seconds of our venue!
Do you host kids parties?
Whilst we are more than happy to host children's parties, we don’t currently offer any party packages. We are however surrounded by lots of local businesses that would be a great addition to your day either before or after your game with us.
How long is the event?
While you are locked in for a maximum of 60 minutes, the event has the total running time of approximately 90 minutes. We also ask that you are at the venue ready to go 10 minutes before your time slot.
